Created in the first minutes of the Big Bang, a lonely Hydrogen atom escapes the inferno; a single proton, alone and unloved, save for a loyal electron that decides to tag along for an epic journey into the ever-expanding cosmos.
After 13 billion years without so much as a Scrabble board to help pass the time, H somehow manages to bump into planet Earth. He discovers life and love briefly, but quickly finds out that both have serious drawbacks.
After a prolonged stint in an oilfield, where he is enslaved by evil carbon atoms, H is finally set free and discovers that he is now a minority shareholder in a water molecule on a dismal wet road in London. His Oxygen atom turns out to be a Madame in a house-of-ill-repute, but she has a heart of gold and takes him under her wing.
Escaping the clutches of Iodine, who has lured him away from his new life in a brothel, he determines on a renewed search for fulfilment. He hopes that the Probability Duck will smooth the path to true love, not realising that the Duck is intent on only one thing – the destruction of the Universe.
